Stem Cell Procedure
Got my pre-op next Friday at Emerson's Green in Bristol and to be honest, I cannot wait! It should be the case that they will carry out the Stem Cell procedure within 4 weeks after that. I was given the choice of travelling to Bristol to have it done, or waiting AT LEAST 52 weeks from now (not even from when the condition was diagnosed) for a possible chance of having it done at Nevil Hall. Poor old NHS is in a sorry state.
Whilst I do not relish the prospect of the pain and the full leg brace for weeks after, I cannot wait to have it done. I just hope the results are as good as they were for my right knee! Although it is still painful at times, it is nothing like as bad as it used to be. I find it hard to credit now that, at one stage, I could barely walk at all, even sitting down and standing up was painful. Just glad that my left knee, though bad, is not yet that bad!
I know how very fortunate I am believe me. There are far worse things out there. My own close family, friends and colleagues includes examples of people worse off than me, though they rarely complain. I am blessed and I know it! That's why I say bring it on!
Here's to next Friday and let's hope we ALL have a peaceful week between now and then.
