So the other night my husband challenged me to come up with a little ditty about bumble bees. This was my (very hastily written) effort, just for fun:
Abuzz with humming energy
The humble, hairy Bumble Bee
Dips in the flowers drunkenly
And pays no mind to you or me
But when we spy the little one
We fuss and flap, we scream and run
And curse the summer and the sun
For mini-beasts that spoil our fun
But Bumble Bee, he drones on by
He hums, content, not wondering why
We humans are so slow and shy
And wingless, yet so quick to fly.
