Dinosaurs, Fossils and Writing!
S P Oldham
Lovely afternoon with my little group, looking at a collection of fossils my oldest put together when he was about 9 (he is 24 now!) We talked a little bit about how fossils are formed, then about how dinosaur footprints exist today and lastly about how the dinosaurs made their mark on the world, which we can still see, even now. We are thinking about how we can make our own marks - i.e. what we want to achieve, what sort of person we want to be etc, and using that to make our own Triceratops, no less! Children's hands will make the 'frill' then we will write different aims and goals on it, then use more hand-printing to 'paint' it before putting it on display, with our very own set of dino footprints to go with it. Lovely afternoon, rounded off with tea and toast.
Children + dinosaurs = great fun!
Have the evening to myself so hoping to get some more writing done. Have to say I was quite pleased that I got as much done last night as I did. So far, so good...
