Do You Review Books You Have Read for Free? Thoughts Please.
S P Oldham
Last week I posed this question and got a couple of thought provoking answers. One in particular has got me mulling things over.
Someone told me that no one bothers to review a free book because they have no investment in it, they can take it or leave as they have paid nothing for it. Do you agree? Does this sound like you?
A professional writer told me, conversely, that an author should offer up a free 'magnet' book in order to help raise your author profile in general terms, and to give potential readers the opportunity to 'try before they buy' so to speak. The hope is that they will go on to actually BUY your next book, and in an ideal world, review that, too.
