Woke up with this in my head and had to write it! Prompted by watching YouTube videos of some pretty awful criminals hearing their verdicts and sentencing.
Don’t You Weep For What You’ve Done
Don’t you weep for what you’ve done You shed no tears then; not a one Human compassion there was none So don’t you weep for what you’ve done
Don’t cry now, over your crime You didn’t cry at all at the time You were cold and mute as a mime So don’t cry now, over your crime
Don’t you sob now you’re found out Now everyone knows what you’re about They see through the all the lies you tout So don’t sob now that you’re found out
Don’t faint and fail, don’t wail and groan Don’t tear at your hair or your fate bemoan Don’t cover your face, now your cover is blown The guilt is all yours, and yours alone
Where were your tears, when your victims pleaded? Where was your mercy, when mercy was needed? Why were their cries never once heeded? You are neither deaf nor blind, yet still you proceeded
So don’t you dare now profess to grieve Don’t mop up crocodile tears with your sleeve Don’t snivel and sniff, the world to deceive You cry only for yourself, and we do not believe
Others must cry for those they lost Others must pay the unpayable cost: You’re the dripping blade, the smoking gun
So Lost in Words

Don’t You Weep For What You’ve Done
Don’t you weep for what you’ve done
You shed no tears then; not a one
Human compassion there was none
So don’t you weep for what you’ve done
Don’t cry now, over your crime
You didn’t cry at all at the time
You were cold and mute as a mime
So don’t cry now, over your crime
Don’t you sob now you’re found out
Now everyone knows what you’re about
They see through the all the lies you tout
So don’t sob now that you’re found out
Don’t faint and fail, don’t wail and groan
Don’t tear at your hair or your fate bemoan
Don’t cover your face, now your cover is blown
The guilt is all yours, and yours alone
Where were your tears, when your victims pleaded?
Where was your mercy, when mercy was needed?
Why were their cries never once heeded?
You are neither deaf nor blind, yet still you proceeded
So don’t you dare now profess to grieve
Don’t mop up crocodile tears with your sleeve
Don’t snivel and sniff, the world to deceive
You cry only for yourself, and we do not believe
Others must cry for those they lost
Others must pay the unpayable cost:
You’re the dripping blade, the smoking gun
So don’t you weep for what you’ve done
